This may be a stupid question...but where can I find the date in which my car was produced? On my prelude, there's a sticker in the drivers side door panel that shows it. But on the evo, I'm not sure where it is.

Edit: Nevermind...I found the sticker after looking a little harder. Mine was manufactured Apr 2005, so I guess I'm part of the recall

Yes on the highway. We were testing out his new exhaust and boom, coolant everywhere and smokin like a motherf**ker. Left us stranded for 3 hours waiting for a rollback to tow him 50 some miles away. Get those hoses replaced ASAP!!!!

The Production date is in Month/Year format so you can you tell if it was produced on 12/09/04 or 12/11/04 ????????????

mine reads 11/04 so I guess I am safe!

my coolant hose blew on me too. at first i could just smell the coolant but couldnt find where it was leaking and the level was good. a day or so later i gassed it pulling onto a highway and coolant sprayed all over my windshield and smoke poured out of the engine. later i looked at the hose and it had blown right through the middle of the hose. dealer paid for the new hose and coolant and i fixed it myself.

heres the deal...
ALL RECALLS ARE BASED ON THE CARS VIN#. I HAD MY FIRST OIL CHANGE DONE TODAY AND I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL. THE TECH(FRANK WISE) SAID THAT HE PULLED ALL RECALL INFO ON MY PARTICULAR CAR AND SAID"NOTHING". RECALLS ARE USUALLY ON JUST A FEW VINS(SOMETIMES ALOT) AND NOT ALL. SO MY CAR WASNT IN THE TURBO HOSE RECALL. HE SAID THAT ONLY A HANDFUL OF EVOS HAVE BEEN DONE, @ LEAST BY HIM @ B.R.A.M.

Which hose are we talking about? The turbo has the coolant feed hose and the coolant return hose. Which hose is the one that leaks?

It's the hose on top that feeds the turbo and it doesn't leak, it bursts open.

I just got off the phone with MMNA (1-888-648-7820) and I gave a very pleasant woman the last 8 digits of the VIN. She said that my car is NOT part of the recall even though my car was produced April 2005. She also told me that customers will be informed by mail if their car is part of the recall process.

My point is, just because your car is produced between 12/04 and 8/05 does not mean that there is a recall on it. Call MMNA and get them to run your VIN or you can wait and see if you get a notice in the mail.
