03-04 Evo vs 05 Evo?
Do u guys think the 05 Evo is alot better than the 03-04? Is it a big difference? Wanting to know everyones opinion between the year models.As far as the tc, trans, and acd.Is it worth all that mush to trade an 03 for an 05? Thanks

pros= 05 has LSD in the front dif and back unlike the 03-04.
03-04 turbo hotside is 9.8
05 is 10.5
05- beefed up syncros
03-04 water sprayer (mostly useless)
05 ACD
05 runs more boost from the factory, and has a more aggressive ecu program
Also i think the MAF is alittle different, so most VTA BOV run alot better
Anything else I missed add in....
03-04 turbo hotside is 9.8
05 is 10.5
05- beefed up syncros
03-04 water sprayer (mostly useless)
05 ACD
05 runs more boost from the factory, and has a more aggressive ecu program
Also i think the MAF is alittle different, so most VTA BOV run alot better

I hurts my feelings when you call our 03-04 water sprayers worthless..spraying is fun! plus its the perfect position for adding alky injection!.. the other great purpose is modifying your intercooler sprayer so you can spray cars next to you! I dont feel so bad that i dont have a front lsd.. really lol
! Ive had my 03 for almost a year now, so its fairly new

From what I have read it seems like the '05 has a lot less problems. Now im gunna knock on some wood here, cause its possible that the 05's just being newer, have less mileage, just havnt started having problems yet. I dunno . . .
Does the '05 MR have HID ? My lights are kinda blue-ish and I have an adjuster thing so I was not sure.

main big diff is the lds and traction control. It yields about 10 more hp and some more torque power, and it has a bigger hotside which is 10.5 instead of 9.8 now. But I think you can only get the HIDS in a ssl package now, doesnt come standard in the gsr's anymore?? I think.. But yea I woulda got the 05 if I didnt get a kick *** deal on my 04 8- ) But then again if I didnt have an evo I wouldnt mind getting a cheaper used evo maybe 22-23ish and puttin the rest into mods and having one fast evo for less than 30 grand 8- )

As I see it.. The 03's are all mechanical.. Not the electronic wizardry in driving the thing... You break that trans, center diff, or wheel sensors in an 05 and you need to put a new mortgage on the house to pay for it... In the money you save in the 03's, you can mod the car to destroy the stock 05's by spending the same amount of money, just to buy it.. Not that I'm mocking it, but I prefer a more raw car for driving hard.. Once I get the Quaife installed, my baby is gonna be nastay!!

05s got all the bugs worked out , plus acd
and def worth the trade from an 03
