I have been there, done that. Im not just talking out of my a$$ here....why would i do that? THEY DO NOT WORK. The point is, you will never know if you use nitrous whether you are making the power because its getting ingested or not. But use Co2 and you will surely find out....it gets ingested and you lose power...or you make ZERO power.
Just to prove you wrong We have proved it to work. We had a supra on the dyno with a heat soaked FMIC and took a NO2 tank and just cracked it on the IC for about 4 seconds. the car picked up 40hp granted it was a 700hp car so it was a little less than a 10% gain, but hey it actually picked up power. oh yeah and the turbo was 3 feet back and we sprayed the IC when the car was in 3rd before we put it in 4th for the dyno pull. no chance for NO2 to go through the intake then through the turbo and compressed and then through the IC and into the T-body and into the intake past the valves and into the combustion chamber.

IMO spraying NO2 on the IC is way to expensive. if you have to do it that way use Co2 its a lot cheaper and will cool just as effectivly.

I have no idea how much Co2 costs...the nitrous around here is only $2.99/lb.

I understand that it will make power ON THE DYNO without nice airflow over the intercooler if sprayed BEFORE the run. Nitrous, will make 5% on the dyno(atleast) all day long....but it won't show hardly any imporovement on traps or anything that means anything. When you are running, its boost activated. You can't really spray it, then get down the track and go....it won't be cold anymore.

If you spray it while you are screaming down the track, or hwy, the cold air gets blown through the intercooler at 70mph or 110mph or whatever....not cooling much at all. Co2 sprayed DURING the run on the dyno won't get you jack, some will seep into the intake and won't combust.

If you spray the intercooler down with co2 while getting up to speed on the dyno...you will gain about 5% of power off of it...this is the only time you will really see a gain. I would say that 15whp on the dyno on a 350whp car is great....but you won't see that on the street. And id bet that if you sprayed it(nitrous) while running hard on the dyno you will see a bigger gain because some will get ingested.

BTW, Greg, you got the supra back running?

I'm not doubting you here, what kind of car did you have it installed on? How close was the intake filter to your intercooler?

it was a twin turtle 300zx....intake was placed about the same as the stock "ram air" inlet tube. But i had sidemount intercoolers....so they were further from the intake.

You know the Nitrous king of Statesboro? OH DANG he is famous world wide!

jeff

let me get this right you ran down the quarter mile one time and then did it again after you sprayed the ic and it picked up no mph at all? hmm thats a tough one to try and take down as i wasn't there.

the supra is back in action! 541rwhp at 21psi got to love the old 2JZ with a GT4067. We have to change the wastegate spring to see what the 30psi number is. damn GT gates and there 7psi stock spring.
