If or when the oil pressure drops you does drop your car can still be safe if you have a audible gauge then you know when an issue arrises. The pressure gauge will safe guard you where personally need it. In the engine. If you race a lot all it takes is a little drop in pressure from a bad pump to blow your car. Oil Temp is another thing as it climbs you can still safely prodect your car. I've seen guys with EGT sensors that they rev it up and go and in 20 mins it blows with no warning. Personally EGT can be ok but when it's bad there's little or no warning.

Oil pressure is a good indicator of engine bearing health and oil pump health. In fact the Mitsubishi service manual instructs you to connect an oil pressure gauge when evaluating and diagnosing issues with the lubrication system. A low oil pressure condition will show up far sooner on a gauge than the idiot light on the dash ever will.

Those oil pressure gauges are a nice thought but if you are road racing odds are you aren't watching those very closely while ripping around through the twisties.
The EGT is sort of half arsed and is really only useful if you watch it continueously and run on the bleeding edge of performance.
Sounds like this guy just needs holes filed and doesn't really car about function.....in that case get the easiest gauges to install. (Boost, Volt, Water temp)

I have defi's EGT and Boost, I plan on getting a wideband 02 later on when I start tuning the car.
I have heard something about the EGT sensors being dangerous.. I mean it gets really hot and then cool down over and over.. when that happens like 100 times won't the sensor get very brittle and break.. and it could fly into your turbo that would really screw things up.
EGT is more for people who use there cars for track.. but I'm a daily driver mine is not plugged in at the moment I'm waiting to install my downpipe first.
That's just what I've heard
