mileage for tranny fluid changes

hi, ive searched the forum and i was unable to find info on when to perform the first and subsequent tranny fluid changes. please post what mileages and also what fluids you suggest for a car that will be in cold weather. i'd rather run the same fluid in all the components to make things easier. thanks

1: use Jack stands!!! You don't want the lift to fail or roll out.
2: every 5000miles. Here you go: http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...&cat=15&page=1

service book says 15k for severe and 30k for normal use. I suggust do the 1st one ALOT early than that though. also OEM for the diffs.

I bought mine at 13k miles and never change it and now I'm replacing my front diff. When Mitsu opened the TC they said there wasn't any oil in it. So unless you want to drop $1500 on the part for a 1/2 hr job and couple bucks, I would change it every 5k miles. I will from now on.

Hopefully this was under warranty.

I put penzoil sychromesh in my tranny. I change that every three oil changes. Its cheap.

I use OEM oil in the transfer and rear diff. I changed them at 15k and it still looked like new .... and I beat the living snot out of this car.

koo i guess ill use that combo too. i plan on changing them at 8000mi when i do my second oil change. 15k tranny changes sounds ok to me, most of my everyday driving (to/from work) is a steady 45 mph

i don't think you are supposed to use GL5 in the tranny. I would use a full 90w in the t-case such as royal purple max gear...or the diaqueen stuff. I think mitsu is calling for the dealers to put the same thing in the tranny and t-case right now....and thats ****. Caused my t-case to take a dump about 1k miles after they filled it.
