Weight Reduction......
#17
If youre willing to spend the money, get the MR Aluminum Roof...it saves 13 lbs and lowers the center of gravity = better handling around corners. Most definitely get rid of the Spare Tire in the back. I dont think anyone mentioned that one. get a carbon fiber driveshaft. BTW, Weight distribution is not at its best. Try to even out the weight as much as you can while trying to cut the fat.

That won't be an issue I weigh 180 LOL! I think this will be my path and see where this takes me:
Remove the following:
All air bags
stereo etc
a/c and heating
all carpet paneling and sound dampening
back electric motors
bumper reinforcement
stock hood,roof,trunk lid
light weight wheels
stock seats, have two light weight sparco's no back seat
as much of the dash as possible
and whatever else along the way that I find

You don't need cf doors....just gut yours, leaving only the exterior of 'em and have nascar bars welded in with your cage. I believe the doors weigh about 80 lbs each, so there's a lot of weight savings to be had there (you can go with fiberglass ones, too).
Stripping everything unneeded (rear wiper, srs, doors, interior, carpet, sound deadening, bumpers) should get you down to 2700lbs or so (without a cage). A straight exhaust that exits out the side of the car, lighter rims with Hoosiers and aluminum coilovers will save you around 80 more.....
Robi said that after he pulled the AC and all the related crap that went with it out of his car it weighed 85 lbs....add to the pile your cruise control junk and you should have a screaming fast car.
