That's pretty expensive for a used 04 IMHO. Sounds like you're pretty set on trying to get it tho..
Some things you can point out on the car for negotiation:
-Condition of tires (OEM tires are 200+ each)
-Condition of paint
-Service Records
-You can drive out of state and buy and 05 for not much more
I'm sure there is more but I haven't done much research :P I personally wouldn't buy a used EVO unless I could check it for abuse personally and I got a hell of a deal on it.
I still say go out of state or do whatever to get a new one.. but with gas prices right now it might not save a whole lot.. but it would be worth it to me.

Anyways how much you think the lowest price for the 04 could be?

Mitsubishi was running 0% financing and they're selling the 05 evos for under invoice because the new 06's are coming out. You could get a new 05 for around 27000 or probably a little more with 0%. Don't buy used. Go into the dealer and look around at it. Ask for a test drive and everything. Then work numbers with the guy. And don't take their first, second, third, or even fourth offer. You will get them to break and you'll have a new evo for what you would have been paying for a used one, cause now you'll have 0%.

Get in your silverado and drive till you find a dealership that will cater to you. Get on the internet and get the dealerships to cut each others throats. I paid 26000 ouyt the door in 03 for my evo in washington. When 2 months earlier they just got them in Seatle and had them marked up to 42000. No $hit.

It would be hot, but I personally dont care for leather too much, and I would much rather have black even if it is used. Also is it just me but does the new evo IX front look like Giallas front bumper
