I read the Article. I am not pissy but threads like this irritate me because
1) you already have a method of controlling boost.
2) you already have a method of controlling boost.
If it ain't broke don't fix it type of deal. My setup as far as controlling boost is concerned is a Defi BF Boost Gauge and a Hallman MBC. It was set by my tuner at 21psi on 104 because of "boost cut" at higher Rpms in 4th gear. Now with the "boost cut" removed I am holding 25ish in 3rd and spiking 26ish bleeding to 25ish in 4th.
Alot of EBC users use the "I don't wanna have to get in and out of my car to increase boost " thought process to justify they're 300-500 $ purchase which is fine. But for me I have set it once and never intend to fluxuate the boost simply because I have been tuned for this set boost level.
I live in Cali where the weather chages arn't drastic enough for me to worry about over boost. Plus my car is a weekend warrior.
all this typing is leading to this to each his own. If I ere in your shoes knowing what I know from my experience with the MBC i would stick with it and put the 300-500 towards a set of camshafts. but thats just me

my ebc works great...set gain, warning, hi/lo settings, and in cabin control, also works as a functional boost gauge to go along with my stock boost gauge. Theres positives and negatives to both but i mean I got my EBC for 200$, if I didnt get it for that price im sure id have a MBC like the rest of the guys..

I used to have Blitz Spec-R EBC and it was stolen. I love that ebc since it's very easy to use and holdboost consistent. It has peak boost display so I always know what is the max boost. Now I have Hallman mbc and like it too. It hold boost very consistent. The only thing is I have to mark on top of the mbc to know which is the low boost setting for 91 oct and which is the high boost setting for those drag days with 110 oct. That's the only thing my mbc can't do compare to the ebc. :-)

I have the Greddy Profec b spec II and it's great for me. I wouldn't say that it's better or worse than anything, though. I've heard about far more problems with EBCs than with MBCs, but I think a lot of that is because they are more difficult to set up.
For me, some of the features that, after having, I couldn't do without are:
-the ability to adjust in very small increments on the fly
-hi and lo boost settings at the touch of a button (great for VA's fluctuating weather)
-peak boost readout after each pull
Basically it does the same job as an MBC, and the features may not be worth the extra $$, but I like it.
