When the weather cools, I'm going to drive 55mph, with no A/C, and shift at 2500 rpm just to see if I can get 30 mpg. It will be torture, of course, since this car begs to be driven fast.
I fully enjoy my daily drive to and from work with as much boosting as possible, even on the highway.

Well, I do boost hard occassionally. However, I bought the car for reasons other than driving the $#!@* out of it. I like the way it looks and feels. I thoroughly enjoy driving it, even in a civilized manner.

i've been driving with ebc off. i do my best to keep the boost gauge from moving but its so hard!! Somtimes when i'm walking away from my car, i swear i can hear the turbo crying from being neglected. On that note, does anyone know the universal sign for "no i dont feel like whooping your *** today, i'm trying to conserve gas." Every single srt4 owner in town it seems wants to race me... from a roll of course. i guess gas prices dont affect you when your parents pay for your gas.

Do the math...it will most likely surprise you how little the difference is annually that you are saving by driving like a grandma. Yeah I could use the extra money, but I didn't buy my EVO to drive it like a Chevy Sprint...just my two cents...

Gas has gone up .50 cents in a day. That's putting a serious hurting on my driving right now. All gas stations are also closing at 6 PM and the lines are outrageous right now. This situation sucks the big one.
For all of you that think we invaded Iraq for the oil, there goes your theory.

I'm driving my old Miata for now... The EVO is not really a good daily driver for the 40+ miles per day that I drive. Not only is the cost of gasoline the issue, but I gotta fill it up at least twice a week Is not that big a deal, but with the stupid long lines at the gas stations and nearly $4 per gallon, it's not a happy thing.... OTOH, the Miata is not much better really.. I get about 18 - 19 mpg from the EVO and 24-28 mpg from the Miata. They both use high test and they both have very small gas tanks......
I was looking around in the Autotrader at the Civics, Integras, etc. But I realized that it would take thousands of gallons of gas saved to make up the cost of the car.... The only thing that I really would like is the much greater range of those cars between fill ups.
