another Evo Vandalized

What a great way to wake up. "Your car has been broken into" were the first things i heard as i woke up from my slumber. Dart outside and see driver side window smashed, Stereo stolen, picnic table spoiler stolen, 85 cd's stolen, some cologne and a plastic bag of 85c. petty bas tards. also took flashlight. left my stuff for my work. so dumb. they brought a screwdriver to take off wing. but got impatient with my stereo and didnt even bother taking two screws off for plastic paneling that holds in stereo. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH
If i knew who did this there would be judgement day on they ***. But i dont and now i have to shell out 1000 for my deductable.
funny thing is that there was a porsche 20 ft away, and a 500whp mustang with unlocked doors and a stereo just sitting there. But NO, they have to go for the nice race car.

damn that sucks bro. SOrry to hear about that. I would use some of the insurance money to invest in an alarm...with lots of sirens. Anything can help..

Hopefully, this will be a good lesson to those others who can't afford the Evo+insurance, but buy it anyway due to lack of self-control. I'm not saying this applies to you, but generally when you have a $1000 deductible, you can't afford the car. $250 is preferable with $500 being the upper limit.

And the guy who has a great driving record with no accidents and a garage to park his Evo in every night and doesn't see the point in paying the extra money every month for the insurance with the lower deductible? Come on man.

$1000 deductible? ouch. i'm not trying to kick you when you're down, but that's a bit ridiculous.

I said "generally." Your situation is the exception to the norm. What happened here was a travesty, but the $1000 deductible just exacerbates the situation and is an indication of other problems.

Perhaps an alarm system is in order. May keep the junkies from stealing stuff that is easy to sell...like the 85 cds. I am not trying to bag on you, but that is like leaving cash in your car in plain view.

That is not always true. The price difference for me between a $500 deductible and a $1000 deductible was a little over $200, so as long as I average less than 1 claim per 2.5 years it costs me less money. Seeing as I haven't had a single claim in the 8 years I've been driving, it didn't really make sense to go for the $500 deductible.

+1

Yep. Get an alarm! While it won't eliminate the possibility of vandalism, it definitely decreases the chances of it happening, espcially from petty thieves.

1st. I have a locked garage and keep it in there every night. 2nd Last night i slept over at my cousins house. 3rd. i'm 23 clean record but ins. rapes me anyways for the car it is. 4th I have been making over 50,000 since I was 19. So I didnt necessarily feel the need for the extra bs in ins. And i can afford it. I have parked in some trashy places before momentarily, and never any problems.
