How much HP can the EVO 2.0L hold?

Did the original poster mean a stock 2.0l or a built 2.0l? It is known that the stock internals are good to around 450whp safely. Above that is risky.
A built 2.0l, hmm....that is a good question. I would guess somewhere in the range of 900whp would be around the highest. That is purely a guess. I wonder what Shep is pushing whp wise?
Oh hell no! A GT42 would be worthless on the street. It is a drag racing only turbo. The largest turbo you should have on the street in my opinion is the GT35R, but if you don't like turbo lag thats probably too big. A GT30 is more than enough.
It's actually not even worth it unless your planning on running around on higher octane or pump gas and methanol injection. Pump gas sucks anyway. When I get the GT35R installed I'll probably run 100 unleaded since they have it at the pump right down the road from my house. I'll be running methanol injection too.
