How much HP can the EVO 2.0L hold?

to get the big hp you have to get a stroker kit, so it wouldnt be a 2.0L anymore. But i would think ams has the fastest evo, i dont know exactly what the number is on the hp

btw, isp racing just reached 809 whp with no tune or juice, with nitrous it should be in 900's

We made 551 whp with the stock bottom end. We didnt want to push any further than that because at the time, another shortblock was impossible to find and breaking a rod would have been one expensive repair. I'd say with a good tune, mid 400s is a reasonably safe number.

The AMS is actually the fastest no nitrous evo right now, running in the nines. They are also the fastest evo on drag radials. I kinda think with a turbo that size, they aren't going to get any low end power, regardless of tune. Drag racing is more about top-end power anyway. They're probably launching at 7K+ RPMs and don't redline until about 10K, so they really don't need any power down low.
Also I don't think you become the fastest no nitrous evo without a good tune.

For example, a stroker 2.3l with a GT42 will not be able to take full advantage of that large of a turbo because by the time the turbo is 3/4 of the way into the power, it hits redline(7,500 or in some cases 8,500 rpm redline).
A properly built 2.0l that can spin to 10,000rpms will be able to take advantage of the large GT42 turbo better because the power band is longer. The spool up of the turbo with the 2.0l will obviously take longer than with a stroker, but in the end will be more beneficial with the capability of spinning the engine into higher rpms.
If your wanting to produce the most power up to 7,500-8,000 rpms than the stroker is the way to go, but if you want the highest achievable horsepower the 2.0l is the way to go and build it to go to 10,000rpms.
This is how it was explained to me. I hope the information given to me was correct.
