Stock speaker buzzes?

I just recently purchased an 05 evo with ssl on the 18th of august, and i was driving it yesterday with the windows down, and the speakers up.
I noticed this buzzing sound comming from my front right speaker. Since i was on my way to the dealer to get the liscense plates, i told the salesman about my new finding. He said it's just the bass of the speaker hitting the side of the door. The other speakers are fine and i don't hear this buzzing nose. I only have +5 setting on the bass, and i only notice it when i have the volume up. Is that a possible defect on the speaker, or is some isolation not installed properly?? Anyone have any ideas?

Is it all the time? My cell will bleed into my speakers every once in a while. If it is the bass you got something loose in the door.

I hope you find out what it is. I have an 05 non-SSL with 1200miles on it. My front-right speaker does the exact same thing. Sort of a buzz/rattle sound when I have it somewhat loud and it hits certain bass notes. I listen to Iron Maiden and I get the buzz during the slow parts of Paschendale and Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I have my bass at +4. Very annoying.

I'm going in for a recall fix next week, so I'll ask the dealer to check it out. I'll let you know if they find anything.

Could be the stock deck not feeding the speakers enough clean power. I have a kenwood deck, with a soundstream amp powering all the cabin speakers and my subs (it's a 5 channel amp), and I don't get any kind of buzzing in the speakers even at high volumes. It might also help that I'm not running much bass if any through the cabin speakers, just all through the subs.

Well I've only noticed it when i turn the volume up to 20 - 21. So far it seems to be comming from the bass from this cd i'm playing. I'm going to try some other cds when i get home tonight, and i'll let you guys know.

Well I can assure you that its not because the stock radio cant but out enough "clean power." I havent heard this sound in my 03 without ssl so I dont know. But it could be the surround the speaker, or just the fact that the speakers cant handle the amount of bass your putting to them...

um, if your bass is on +5 expect to hear a lot of rattling. its not bad for a stock system, but its still stock.

have you taken the speaker out and looked at it? stock speakers on any car are usually paper pieces of crap with a foam surround.. if you turn them up too loud, the foam will tear causing a "buzzing" sound. check it out

i just bought my SSL recently as well, it's probably the CD, certain CD's and genres of music I play tend to exacerbate the rattles and buzzes and noises in the car. . . weird. . .congrats on the purchase!
