As far as I am concerned 99% of ticketing is a racket and revenue generating scam run by local law enforcement.
If a person is going faster than the posted limit but signaling and making a good lane change then too bad. Go worry about something else like REAL crime.
There are enough people getting shot, stabbed, raped, assaulted, fires, emergencies, etc. that should require more attention than someone in a tuner car going 15-20 over the speed limit.
Another fine example of local municipalities using TAXPAYER monies to engage in rediculous endevours.

Yes drunk drivers. Although I would say that I don't agree MADD trying to goto a .04 or .06 lower intoxication level with open provisions, meaning you don't have to blow that number in order to be considered intoxicated.
I don't like the idea of the system getting to the point where you could be considered drunk at 180lbs with just 2 beers in your system.

The founder of MADD got so disgusted with them she quit because they've strayed so far off her original mission, to get chronic drunk drivers off the road.

I'm not going to get into a flame war based on something you probably said to impress people on these forums. You obviously didn't mean it, because with out officers arresting people, you probably out of a job.

This is about the funniest and long winded thread I've seen yet! LMAO
Ppl going around saying things like "if I don't get caught, it's not a crime". HA!! Don't let them fool you, they are the most guilty ones of all. Anyone that tells you, you should just own up to your crime are putting on a fasude. Hell they'd do just about anything to get out of something like that.
Not all cops are dicks...I have some good friends that are cops and have known honest ones, however, most of your typical officers are out for job security, or has control issues (why they joined the force to begin with)....hence the usual blacket statements. evo743, you know which cops those are and shake your head at them, saying things like "you guys are the reason we get such a bad rap".
Where is a good officer when you need one?!

I don't plan on ever setting foot in California again, but just in case I do, I said cops aren't stupid.

Hmmm...why not take the $200 you would have paid in fines and donate it to hurricane relief. You might get the "own up to it" people off your back and you'll have the added benefit of knowing that your money is going towards something good (as opposed to -- oh -- I don't know -- more donuts for the force?).
