Is it worth it?
Hi, if you're new to the evolution scene, and would like to try.. I was wondering if importing a evo from japan is actually worth it.. what are the procedures and how do you do it? Sorry is this is in the wrong section also, im new to this forum.

Then I got orders to come back to the USA and I almost had a freaking heart attack when I found out the price of the conversion, it was simply ridiculous:
Bars in the doors
different windshield
different head lamps
different bumpers
differnt bumper armatures
speedoometer
seatbelt check lights
Dual Airbags
and the worst .. emissions
then if that was not enough, have a good chunk of cash ready for the taxes and registration and get yourself another car because the entire process could take up to 3 months.
I was lucky to sell my car to a local british officer from the RAF wich was about to retire in Spain and needed a left hand drive car convertible for the beautiful weather.
Definately not worth it. Plus the EVO8 in the USA has basicly the same power as the european and japonese one.
Last but not least, I realize that the prices for the Porsche here were very similar to the ones in Europe..

I would say no for one reason. The Evo III is considered to be one of the first import cars that was not significantly watered down (compared to its Japanese counterpart) when brought to the states.
