Well it looks like the design of that particular hanger is just plain no good. It's tearing again in exactly the same manner. I've contacted MR again and I hope I can help them out a bit... all they need to do is wrap a piece of stock under/around the pipe rather than simply welding it onto the side. Couldn't cost more than $1 additional to get that done in process...
Will keep this thread posted.

Yeah, the design is no good. I found my HKS cat-back was missing a support on one of the hangers and it broke in the same manner. Each hanger needs to be mounted onto the pipe at two points to help distribute the load.
This is the hanger that was missing from my cat-back.

Megan racing have actually updated the design since you bought your system, to include a brace on that particular hangar, making it stronger.
IMHO They continue to involve, and provide one of the best bang for buck exhausts anywhere, period.
They occasionally make some design/manufacturing errors, but have demonstrated ability to correct those errors, free of charge (though it does take some time due to their location), and provide second to none customer service.
If you are going to buy one, do it through Zeus, you will not regret it.
The amount of power you get from going from stock to full MR TBE is awesome.
And for $550 from Zeus is just about unbeatable
I personally had a few fitment issues, but absoluetly love the exhaust and have full confidence that it will be resolved asap. If only mitsu provided the same level of customer appreaciation

Hit Megan up at support@meganracing.com They will take care of you. The Evo VIII was a new run from them, and there have been some "pains". However, as stated above, they will take care of you.
The rattling tip issues is being addressed also. I'd advised them to weld it vs. rivet it myself. Unfortunately, I felt foolish as I didn't realize the tip is real Ti and can't be welded properly to the 304 stainless. They are looking at using a different riveting process to eliminate further issue. I still run the 1st gen Evo turboback on my own Evo (about 2 yrs maybe?). Due to my sister-in-law's Mazda, it already had the above hangar re-welded. I also had to put rivets in between the Megan ones on the tip for the same reason, the hit was right on it. I still love my exhaust system. Esp. when I think about all the other things I spent the other $500+ on vs. buying one of the high priced "JDM" units.
It does take forever for production changes through Megan though. They make revisions, send them over seas, a prototype is made and sent back for fitment testing. When confirmed, it is sent back over seas yet again. Finally, the end product is produced and takes the slow boat here to Megan USA in Cali to be provided to distributors. Granted, it is drawn out, but they always seem to come through in the end.
