LIquid to Air or AIR to AIR
I was looking at the turbotrix evo and really like the way the liquid to air intercooler barrel looked in the engine bay. However a local shop of mine told me that and AIR to AIR was optimal for an Evo, Does anyone have any experience with thia? Also I am ideally looking to gain about 450 to 500 at the wheels for my daily driving EVO.

liquid to air intercoolers are much more effective when compared to air to air, they can really really cool the air a lot more than a air to air. Like someone said before it is a lot more work to make one work on the evo, as compared top unbolting the bumper, taking of the clamps and the 3-4 screws and taking the stock intercooler off and replacing it with an aftermarket one, and an air to air should be good enough for what u are expecting to achieve 500hp.

I see both yor points however my sponsor has the capability to make the pipeing for the PWR universal kit and has already installed one in their turbo MR2. Basically I was just wondering if their was a reason not to use the liquid to AIR?

If you don't mind the extra work, liquid works better. If you want to get real cold liquid for a long term for like street or auto-x, you can use your ac system to chill it down, of course, you wouldn't be able to keep the cabin cool then. ;(

Right before a 1/4 mile run you fire up the A/C to super cool the liquid in the intercooler. Then, once desired temps are reached, the A/C is turned off.

The liquid to air ,, imho would not be optimal for a daily driver. They normally run a radiator for it with a fan of some sort.. We obvioulsy dont have that, but we run ice right before we run. Our inlet temps start off about 40deg ..and see about 100 through the traps ..
