Drove my EVO on a fire road in Nevada
Just wanted to share a little experience I had over the weekend. I decided to go for a drive since the weather was nice here for a change. We headed out towards Red Rock Canyon but decided to go over the hump first. Well, I saw a little dirt road off the to the side and got a bright idea.....drive on it.
I put the car in gravel mode, first time its actually been in gravel on the gravel.....
I tell you what, is this thing a handful in the dirt. The power is amazing, more than I think I could control. You jump up to speed so quickly but need to slow down for turns. I've driven plenty of bad *** four wheel drive trucks off road before ( I used to own a 2002 Tacoma V6 SR5 4x4 TRD ) but these Evo's are incredible.
It wasnt so much the speed or acceleration that got me but the braking on gravel that scared me. Street tires.....makes me want to buy a second set of rims with some WRC michelins.
I took pics out there but they are too large to put on this board.
Anyways, I didnt beat up the car, just enough to get her sliding around a few corners and get the feel of it. You dont want a flat in the middle of the desert. I know if I get some tires meant for that type of driving I am doing it.

i can't wait til mine gets some miles and beauty marks on it so i can drive it in the dirt. i live on a dirt road, but with only 1100 miles on it i can't justify it yet. maybe after winter cause it probably won't be perfect after winter gets through with it
