Painting carbon fiber hood & trunk?
I have a Seibon hood & trunk on the way and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on painting them? I have a silver Evo and thought it would look cleaner painted but on the other hand would kind of defeat the purpose of the look.
Thanks

I know the weight diffrence is really nothing I want the wingless look that is why I went with the carbon trunk and my hood is in bad shape so I figured I might as well get the combo. Now I am just wondering should I paint, or not paint?

My painter had troubles painting my seibon hood.....he said he couldnt get the clearcoat to work out right. It was leaving fisheyes in it. Here was my idea with the brownish area being carbon (use your imagination..lol)

I would say that the weight difference is not insignificant, considering all of the very small things that ppl do to try to lighten their cars. I recently put on a cf trunk, and it definitely felt much lighter. I would say that if your main purpose in getting it was to go wingless and you don't want it to stand out too much, paint it. I have a Tarmac Black Evo, so it kind of blends in.
