Evo MR roof rack
I'm thinking of picking up an MR when the 9's come out. Searching through the forums I've run into a few mentions of not being able to use roof racks with the aluminum roof on the MR and RS. There is one post about someone using a ski rack fine though. I'll need it to haul ski's and bikes. Does anybody have experience one way or another on this?

if the roof rack mounts to the outer rails right above the door jams) it might be O.K. if it touches the roof in any other area, then i'd skip it cause it will ding the roof. i would definately reccomend against hauling bikes, your current ride is much better suited to these duties though.

although if the rack is mounted to the door frame and not to the roof itself, it should work

You want a Yakima rack for the MR. It mounts to the pillars outside the roof panel. Thule rack won't work.
By the way, I am near SF and may be selling my Lancer Yakima rack. You can PM me if you're interested.
Best,
John
