Does this conversion kit come with a switch (AWD/RWD) ? or is it meant to disconnect the ACD(AWD) ?

Seriously... We really did not make the video for release, but to show some people how the testing was going. But now that its out here are some simple answers to questions.

1) In typical RMR fashion we like to be the first with product. And not only product that fits, but product that we have beat on and tested thoroughly. So we have a few Evo IX's to play with.

2) Also in typical RMR fashion, we like to be inventive. Make an Evo RWD opens the car up to several forms of racing including Drifting and Group 5 Rallying. Also its a very fun street car.

3) We will have a conversion kit available in a couple of weeks (maybe more) so keep checking our website for further details.

4) The Exhaust on the Evo IX is an RMR Downpipe and Exhaust.

Let me know if there are any further questions. I will try to answer them.

Thank you for the information. I have been racing a lot lately and came to hit a dead end when I started to need a rear wheel drive car as they are much more fun to be on the track then all wheel drive.

I bought a 325is to make it my racecar but if you release this kit I will convert my EVO to rear wheel drive ASAP as I want it to be rear wheel forever. I never thought it would be possible (even if I did) I never thought it would be reliable. So my question is how reliable it is and what is cost? If you like you can pm me answering my questions.

God and I was so close to sale my EVO.... I guess you saved it

There is no costs yet but keep an eye on our website for the release.

The conversion will not be switchable (at leased not with a switch)

For SAYC-equipped Evo 8 or 9, is there an alternative? Like perhaps yanking the SAYC out altogether and replacing it with a Cusco mechanical diff?

This could also be done with a center spool.

Yeah but, with DSMs it usually done with a viscous coupling eliminator, and it makes the car FWD. I have heard of a selectble tranny from some Galant VR4's that people swap in that can go from F to A to RWD, but have never seen first hand how it works. To do it with a stockish Evo seems like a great way to mess up a perfectly good car, IMO.
