evo 7 problem
i guys
recently my ct9a is giving me some headaches. getting funny "woonm woom woom noisy sound whenever my car travels around 40kmh and above. i really cant stand the noise anymore. anyone knows what's the problem. no noise during idle with clutch engaged or disengaged. the noise is even there when im travelling around 90km/h even when i put it to neutral/ free gear. could it be my ayc ? pls help! car has 30k mileage.
mods cusco clutch only
thanks heaps

Not to scare you but your simptoms sound like a transfer case. If its like a whining noise and its getting worse by the day the tc is bout to go. Thats how I ended up trading in my Evo...

Sounds like a wheel bearing in the front.
Swerve back and forth and if it is a wheel bearing it will get louder and quiter.
The bad bearing is opossite the direction of steer that makes it louder.
In other words, swerve right and it gets louder then the left bearing is bad.

How did you check bearings?
You know that modern bearings rarely exhibit play when they go bad, right?
If it is not a bearing the it is the TC. But I would double check the bearings, I know exactly what a bad bearing sounds like on the front of an evo.
