Just got back from Switzer's today, and I took a ride in the Evo 9! Wow is all I have to say . These babies pull ALL THE WAY TO REDLINE, and do feel drastically different then my '03 on stage 2. Boost DOES NOT taper at all, and pulls like a Motha'. I can't wait to see what they can do at Norwalk this weekend, so people can compare the two. I was very impressed with the car, and think that people's minds will change after the dust settles. Take a ride in one, then tell me that you don't feel a difference!

Give the IX a few miles to loosen up and I bet you'll see another 10 hp/TQ on that dyno pull, minimum.

David: I dont mean to hijack the thread, but do you forsee any problems with tuning the 9s so far (ie. the BR330/350 packages you are offering)? Can we expect the same power gains as we saw on the 8s?

All I can say is this, if Mustang Dyno's didnt do such an excellent job simulating load with there eddy current system, then why did dynojet add that feature as an option recently? Because they were proly getting there butts kicked in new dyno sales. That is why we chose a 2wd mustang 2 years ago, and that is why we stuck with them when we upgraded recently to a 4wd. Like Dave Buschur says, it is a real dyno.

Is it really smart to be dyno'ing brand new evo ix's when they need to be broken in because it seems like you went a lil over the 5k rpm mark or have they been driven for 600 miles already?

I think most of us can agree that Daves been doing this stuff long enough the he knows the proper break-in procedures for the 4g63.

Glad to see the 9's aren't making too much more power...otherwise I'd get jealous
Good points

How will the Mivec react to mods though? That is THE question!

on subaru STI and Legacy GT tuning the intake cam adjustment is very helpful

are 9 gt cars with mag turbos put down 238hpatw's on a dyno dynamics in shoot 44
a gsr car however put down 274 hpatw's with just a exhaust and pump and no other mods .

are evo 9 gt now make 335 atw's and still lots more to come . the 9 is a far greater car than that of the 8's here in the uk. the mivec and larger comp cover make for a better alround car and retains its hp and torque longer . it also makes hp and torque far faster too in real time . i did post some dyno plots .
