EVO 8 VS. EVO 9 Dyno Chart from Switzer Performance

Thought that since there was a dyno chart comparison from a Mustang Dyno that I would show the baseline pulls of a stock 05 and a stock 06 EVO9 on our Dynojet.

Just like the other comparison, really not that much of a difference. I was really expecting the new adjustable cams to fatten up and smooth out the torque, then help keep on the HP at high RPM. Maybe once they start getting tuned...

Big difference between stock 03,04 and the IX, not much difference between 05 VIII and 06 IX...seems this way to me.

How bout just taking those cars to the track and running them to find out what kinda times they pull? And let the same driver run both cars

I wish they would have started at the same speed.

I thought some of you guys might be curious about a modded Evo's dyno chart and its characteristics so here it is. The red line shows an 03 with the following mods: Hallman MBC, HKS Catback, SAFC 2, 650 injectors, fuel pump, MR BOV, at 20Psi. The Blue is the stock EVO9 and the Yellow is a stock 05 EVO 8.

did you just dyno this 05 today, or is it your old graph? the power in the upper rpms looks nice, i assume that's the mivec kicken in.

Why didn't you guys start the pulls at 3k rpm on the evo9 for an apples-to-apples comparison against the stock 05?

These pulls were done on 3 different cars on 3 different days. There was never any intention back then of needing to overlay graphs right on top of each other with the type of parameters that people are now requesting (after the fact).

isn't torque what we are really concerned with? If so looks like the 9 only makes 3 more than the 8.

Honestly considering the different starting points....these three cars are nearly identical.
