Is it safe to drive with mods with out a tune or flash

I plane on doing Buschur stage 4 all at once, but I know I can’t install all of the parts in one day,

Is it safe to drive around with all these mods with out a tune, it will take me at least a week part time to finish, then the closes dynoflash is 4 hrs a way

the parts include

cams
intake
fuel pump
injectors
fmic

Thank for the help

Set aside a whole weekend, have someone help you too. And yes you need to tune it.

i think you will have real trouble with those injectors under part throttle. everything on there needs to be tuned.

Leave the injectors out until you get a tune or you probably won't run to good. You can drive around with all the other parts fine but will get a more beneficial gain from the parts once your car is tuned.

You will run horribly horribly HORRIBLY rich. Hold off on the fuel pump and injector install until you get to Dynoflash and install them in the parking lot. Those can be done in under an hour. You can get by with just the cams in w/o problems.

unless you have a turbo upgrade or alcohol injection kit that you're planning on installing as well, you're going to fall well short of the 400whp mark with those mods.

I'd expect 325-350whp.

Just send your ECU to them and they will flash and send back. You just give them a list of your mods and they will tune it and send back in 2 days....

That wouldn't be as good as a custom dyno tune on the spot. A mail-in flash is just basic.

BR "Stage 4" comes with an SAFC which would be your tuning device. They include a "stage 4" specific map. Are you upgrading to a standalone or something?

I don't know how the Evo's ECU operates, but on STis you DEFINITELY need to do an ECU tune. I would assume it's the same with an Evo, especially after upgrading with major mods such as a cam.
