EVO windshield

no no dont get the lancer windshield. the rear view mirror bracket will not mate up with the Evo mirror. The place I used to get mine replaced had to look up the special EVO only windshield and trust me they are different! State farm fixed mine free of charge, not a penny out of my pocket!

replaced my crap with a supposed "factory like for like" ws. i specifically asked for the mitsu one tho and those bastards came with some crap.
my insurance only pays for "patching" a small crack.
my friend's car that i was following kicked up a rock that cracked my ws, damn bastid

I went through this a couple of months ago. Basically I am running a lancer windshield and mirror. After specifically telling them I needed an Evo windshield and that it was not the same they still installed the lancer one. They did get me a new mirror and it seems fine.

Yes it fits but the bracket for the mirror is different. The glass guy that ordered mine says there is no listing for the Evo windshield. They installed the windshiel then bought me a mirror, so I have a mirror for either windshield now.

I just replaced mine w/ a Lancer w.s. Yes there is the rearview mirror issue. I took a heat gun to the backside of the bracket from the outside of the windshield, and it popped of with a little elbow grease and a set of pliers. I went to Pep boys and picked up a rear view mirror adhesive kit and thats all you need. Hopefully the glass place removes the button form your old ws so that you can do this. The lancer ws will line up perfectly and slide right in. The difference between the Evo and Lancer ws is that the Lancer one is thicker. Oh no, I just gained an extra 5 pounds for a stronger ws. Oh well, I am very happy.Plus it was cheaper than the Evo windshield by 400 bux. If anyone has any questions you can PM me and I will be more than glad to answer any questions.

If the Lancer windshield made no difference than the true Evo windshield, Mitsubishi simply would have used the regular Lancer glass on all Evos to cut their cost and make a few more bucks. Use your brains people. Do you really want extra weight up high on your car?

At the most, the EVO glass is a few Millimeters thinner...so lighter, yes. Lighter to the point where you or I could tell, NO!!!
I drive the $hit out of my car and I can tell NO difference on the street, strip, or roadcourse.
