where is the AUX in the headunit? Do all headunits have AUX features? I've been struggling with the FM transmitter and it sucks ***.

(current models) can use the alpine kai420 iPOD interface.
This will allow you to control your iPOD through your headunit of choice.
Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC have simular BUT slower interfaces.

any headunit w/ an AUX input. just need a male to male 3.5mm jack. headphone out of your iPOD to the AUX input at the headunit. good thing is, the toggle to find songs is faster than the interface from alpine/aftermarket headunit. but you have to control the ipod along w/ the headunit.

theres a new iPOD2CAR unit, which allows a factory non premium headunit to interface w/ your iPOD. -BESTBUY

lastly, theres the crappy FM modulator, but that works like ****.
The Alpine 420 ipod interface is the way to go, and so worth the extra $100 if you already have an Alpine hu that supports it. It has excellent sound, it keeps the ipod charged, is just one connection, and I can control the ipod from my touch screen. Totally pimp.

iPods are incompatable with the EVO. You have to drive a VW (or Audi) and have lots of gay friends who hang out at Starbucks.

Actaully, I have no idea. I know my alpine desk to supposed to hook up to one allowing the head unit to control it.

Does any company make a 12-pin to RCA cable to connect to the CD changer plug on the back of the OEM radio?

That would solve all of the difficulty in getting this accomplished!

I have an alpine hu and the ipod interface. It works real nice. I converted the change bin into an ipod slot. All i do is drop the ipod into the change bin and close the door. Everything is controlled through the stereo.

You guys are lucky to have XM radio.. if they had that stuff here I wouldnt be needing a Ipod But anyways if you want to select different tracks you must control it from the Ipod when hooked up to a Alpine head unit?

I too have a Alpine head unit with the alpine car adapter. You can run the Ipod thru the radio. That is the way to go. The FM transmitter sounds like crap. Waste of money.

Yea my friend has the ipod alpine interface and its really cool. You can control everything from the head unit. But I have an Eclipse monitor and I hooked up the brand new ipod video through the video IN on the brain and it works great. Gay thing is that you have to toggle with the ipod.
