BOVs for DUMMIES!!!
Whenever you hear wrx's or any other cars with turbos and they are sitting still in neutral and rev you hear that crazy blow off valve noise. My question is why does the evo not do this and does it all have to do with VTA and recirculating?
Im thinking the loud ones are bovs that vta is this correct?...help this dummy. Oh and tell me reasons why people would VTA or recirculate and is one better then the other? Can you get your evo to be loud and sitting in neutral like other cars?

You guys kill me with this sh*t !! People use VTA BOV's because they think they are mods. They are only mods if you need them. VTA BOV suck @$$ for the EVO. Too many partial throttle and idleing problems, and fluttering is a b*tch !

Only because our valves were used in the test above, I'm going to give you a quick run down:
Mass Airflow Sensor equipped applications (including the Evo) are designed to use a recirculating valve. When using the stock ECU, even if it's tuned, it is best to continue to use a recirulating valve.
A vent-to-atmosphere valve will vent the residual charge air at throttle lift and create a rich fuel condition among other problems. Poor idle is sometimes experienced, a loss of power, a decrease in gas mileage, slower spool, etc.
If you are going to continue to use the OEM ECU and MAF and not use a standalone engine management, just stick with a recirculating valve and save yourself some trouble.
