Car feels weaker
I've own my 04 evo rs for almost 3 month. After a month of owning it i started hearing a whinning noise. I took it to the dealer, it turns out to be a transfercase problem. They replace it and now it seems to be weaker. It might just be me but I think the bad transfer case might of gave me more power. But the car is quiet now.

Yep check for vac leak. My car feels weaker on different days
One definite cure would be to drive a civic for 1 week.

the first gear whine is normal....
at around 35 it start whining loud...then at 50 it goes away...at 65 it comes back with a grinding noise. Then above 80 its just hella whiney that you can still hear with while blasting music...but mitsubishi still doesnt know what it is...so iv been living with this curse for the past 2 months

My tc was whinning at high pitch noise in 4th and 5th gear, around 50 to 65 mph, after that it would quiet down. After replacing it, seems like turbo isn't working as good as before, i am wondring if Mitsubishi didn't install it correctly. I'll check the vacum hoses later when i get off work and see if i can find anything.

Is there a tutorial to do a boost leak test, i'm new to turbo cars. I believe they put the right fluids in i asked them when i got the car back and they said it was the diaqueen fluids.
