I am going to buy some gauges and a gauge pod for my EVO, I just want to know which gauges are the most important???

I was thinking for sure I need a boost gauge, however after that I get lost....

I only want two, so for our car and my 2nd gauge do I need EGT or Fuel Pressure or Oil Temp???

EGT makes the most sense.

oil, boost, and egt is the norm. from there you can add more (air fuel, fuel pressure etc...) just depends on how many things you want to look at.

 

If you have the cash, a wideband 02 gauge would by far be the best....... those are the only 2 you need!!!!

 

oil pressure is essentially worthless, by the time you notice a change in oil pressure, the damage is already done. oil temp is a better choice.

Get AFR and Boost. All the temp gauges (EGT, Oil, Water, Trans) warn of impending doom.

went to a local shop and I asked 3 meters with panel and install ~ comes up with around $1200 is this a normal price ?? DEFI Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and Boost ...... with a panel at the audio (none Carbon one)





I not sure about the price in other areas please give me some input .

If you dont plan to do any tuning as yet an EGT gauge is of no use to you just yet ... when you start to tune and want to monitor EGT's then think about an EGT gauge ..

 

It Depends on whicl Gauge u get ... The ones with warning tones are good, you can preset a specific psi reading, once you hear the tone you back off and you just saved and engine ..

A/F gauge is the one that is of no use .. those things are 70% not accurate 70% of the time ..

 

Maybe you didnt read the posts prior to yours so I will sum it up for you

Oil pressure is pretty much worthless.....and IMO I would not opt for a oil temp guage but if you want to fill up a spot by all means.....

Boost and EGT is all you really need
