Evo Tehnique Question

On a regular road thats been recently wet by rain etc, whats the min possible speed i'd need to be going to do a 180.

Can anyone suggest any type of techique? would this cause any bad problems on the car?

Any how much of a delay would i need before going into reverse. without messing up my tranny or anytihng?

I wouldn't learn this trick in an Evo first. Play around in a RWD. The evo is pretty difficult to get to do this. BYW where are you from?

Start making a sharp turn and hit the gas, it will take some practice though because its easy to go to far. The slower your going into the turn, the easier it is to control. If you do it right you will only hurt your tires, do it wrong and you might break something.

I've done this several times and its a lot of fun. I'm a stunt driver in training (ie, haven't gotten work yet) the technique is pretty much the same as with a RWD, its just harder to get it to come around.

start out in a closed parking lot or somewhere thats wide open, not a street, its too narrow to experiment.

1. pick a focal point in your rear view mirror ( this is the key to getting exactly 180) it helps if it is something big or bright to be able to find it easily (stolen road cones work great)
2. left hand goes to 8o'clock on the steering wheel for a right turn and 10 o'clock for a left turn
3. Put the car in neutral to save your tranny incase you are late shifting
4. Right turn: left hand drops to 6 o'clock (wheel turns from 8 to 6) and immediately to 12 o'clock this gets the tail out ... as the left hand passes 9 o'clock pull the handbrake until the car is 90 degrees to the street.
Left turn: left hand from 10 o'clock to 12 then to 6
4.as the car is 90 degrees to your direction, the hand brake goes down and shift to reverse while the wheels are stopped (they are stopped briefly as the car spins to backward)
5.as you spin, keep an eye on your focal point
6 left turn: to keep the car going around the left hand goes from 6 to 12 as the car passes 90 deg. and back to original 10 as it comes to 180
right turn: from 12 to 6 and back to 8
7. when you see the focal point come to the front of the car, drop the clutch
8. when power hits the wheels the car will stop rotating and continue in reverse

be sure you have plenty of room until you can get it confidently. if i could make it to fl. iwould love to help you with that. it sounds really fun. pm me if you need anymore help. i could maybe make you a vid
