want an 05 evolution brand new...help!

alright everyone...as the title says, i'm looking for a brand new 2005 evolution with with SSL. Now some of you may know I had an 04 evo (got it mid-sept) with SSL which i got for $29,998 + tax, tags, title, but because of some errors from the dealership, they wanted me to come back in and fix the problems. long story short, i wasn't coming down from 1.9%, which was the rate they gave me, so they took the car back. fine by me. had a week long test drive and am addicted. . anyways i'm again in the market, but the prices i've been quoted are $500 over invoice. no ones willing to come down. invoice on a evo w/SSL from edmunds is $32,230, so they're willing to give it for $32,700.
I have no idea what's going on. the new IX is out, the 05 is a year and model old, adn i'm getting a higher price than i did when I bought the 04. Can anyone help me. are the 05's really popular now, and demand is high that they're not discounting them much. how much should I pay for a SSL 05 evolution?

Max i'm willing to pay is $29,000 w/out tax, tags, pro.fee JUST BECAUSE I got one last year for $29,998. The 2006 IX is at hte dealership where this car is...odd.

Is my price reasonable? am I demanding too much? I have to buy before Oct 31st...0% ends, and they must meet their quotas, so maybe I could get an even better deal. anyways...just looking for some advice from people who've recently bought an 05 (after the IX came out) or pretty much anyone...where do you stand?
thanksss

i'm in va.
yeah i've thought about the ix, but i'd be paying a good amount more and my budget, as much as i'd like do, will not let me. I'd love to get a new 05 RS for a great price. what are peoples experiences buying an 05 evo this late? seems like no ones buying hte 05...all are going for the 06. anyways let me know about hte price....

I don't know if this will help, nor do I know if they have SSL.

I went by Family Mitsubishi on the northside of Indianapolis and they had a couple of 8's sitting around.

Might take a roadtrip to get one, but just an FYI.

Good luck. Talk to a guy who has the last name Jordan (forget the first) if you do try and get in touch with them.

yeah if i do buy one now, i'll have to swap the tires for some winters...or get some new wheels and tires and just swap them for the winter. so i dunno. having 2nd thoughts
i'll post pics if i get one

So you signed and everything on your 04 and they "took it back"?? Can they do that? Good luck with the hunt.

That price is 29000 is tough for a EVO w/ssl. I say more like 31000. Good luck anyway.

Them taking it back was illegal. They tried to do it to some one else on this forum but he got to keep it. That price for the ssl 05 is pushing it.

If you want a bargain, you gotta work for it...

Get on the phone and talk to every sales manager in a 500 mile radius of your home (or however far your willing to go). Once you know they have what you want, have them fax you their best price offer (signed by the sales manager). Make sure they know you are calling many dealers, and you are simply going with the best price.

There's a silver 05 with SSL here in Lincoln. It's been in the showroom for like 9 months. Someone could get a great deal on it.

yeah, you arent getting a car for 2K below invoice much less an evo. my buddy bought a brand new 04 w/ SSL after the 05s came out. That car had been sitting on the lot for months and he still ended up paying like 500 under invoice.

I don't agree fella's! You work hard enough, you can get an 05 evo for cheap. I paid 28 OTD for an 05 evo w/ 4 miles on it. No SSL though. Shipped from another state. Keep with your plan, and resist the temptation to overpay. Trust me.
