But their is a price difference of nearly like 4.5 grand!!! What do you guys think in value terms? Also you guys think an 06 STi would beat a regular VIII in this same exact test?

For the '05 STi vs VIII GSR, the VIII won. But only by a hair. I'm talking about the roadcourse part.

Yeah speaking of that....I saw a 65 yr old lady driving one with 3 other old ppl in it. Still had dealer tags on it too. I was shocked. lol. I wonder what made her pick an STi and not a regular WRX or a 2.5 rs. I don't get it.

Coming from an STi, I know the cars are very close in performance numbers, everyone knows that. But when it comes to modifcation, the Evo has the upper hand, easily. If you check out IWSTI.com, you can see a person there that has spent 20k+, just to get his STi in the 11's.

Does anyone know if they quickened the steering ratio on the new STi? or is it because of stiffer springs? I know they improved the DCCD to improve handling ... anyone have any info?

and the STi does have a much better interior. when you sit in it, it feels like you are sitting in a 30k car (guages, dash, standard HID's, etc...). I think value wise for someone whose not into modding and nuts about racing (auto-x, roadcoarse, etc...) the STi is a very good choice.

Don't forget the manufacturer. If there's one thing that has turned me off to buying a new EVO/Mitsu again it's Mitsubishi and their service. I've heard much better things about Subaru.

Trust me it isn't much better, warranties have also been voided on their end ...

im kinda iffy on the new ones but the old ones definately looked more agressive and imho look better than the evo's. The only thing i do not like about the STi is their wing. Evo's wing is much nicer.

That is true but they are still much more dependable than mitsubishi's service. They are a more professional company to deal with overall.

I love both these cars(previous to 06 STi) more than anything in the world. My goal in life own an Evo IX and my STi together. That would be hella crazy. Good post!
