EVO IX BR330 now home with Z06...Part Two
.... hopefully i can successfully post larger pics this time.
Well, i have had the IX BR330 now for a couple of weeks. The EVO and the Z06 (2004) are playing nicely together, although the Z hasnt been out much lately as i cant seem to keep from taking out the BR330.
Initial comparison:
well, still not able to do a fair comparison as the BR330 has not yet received its flash tune...(expecting some pretty good numbers)... although, here are my initial thoughts.
1. power: its confirmed.. the z06 is still wicked. pulls hard bottom to top..period. the IX is no doubt impressive, and will get even better i am sure after the Ecutek tune. (Dave Buschur should be able to speak to this) fyi..the Z06 is bone stock.
2. handling: tough one. the z06 is pretty amazing and hard as nails in my view. NO body roll and sticks well although the Evo is pretty close here and probably "feels" more planted. the z feels like it could let go at any moment. (but doesnt). the Evo's all wheel drive and ACD give GREAT feedback as to whats going on.
3. interior: both are OK. the z06 with its leather looks good to me...seats kinda suck. EVO... needless to say... are F*ing amazing. sometimes i just go out and sit in them. the heads up display in the Z rocks. the gauge pack down low in the MR isnt the best.
4. transmission: again.. i like both. the z06 feels strong and notchy which i like. the IX is smooth and buttery. the peddles in both are great.
5. looks: i think the nod goes to the Z06 here. dont get me wrong.. the Evo looks pretty cool... but, most people dont know what it is or its capabilities... therefore, think its a honda with a big wing. i was out with a date this week.. and the girl thought the vetter looks "sleak and low".... and the EVO looked "chubby and mean". profound huh?
well... kind of brief i know.. i will give some better impressions once tuned and maybe get some time on the road course. oh.. and here is an attempt at posting larger pics, later.

warrtalon,
wow... thank you! thats very nice. i am heading out to the garage right now... any snags i should be aware of?
Evotec,
yes, it is a 2004 Z06. I am not sure what you mean by... "thought they looked different". are you referring to the new 2006 Z06 by chance?

Nice little fleet you've got there. I do have to disagree with you on one point. The Evo trans wins because it doesn't have that damn skip shift and odd shift knob the vette has. LOL. I had one for a while not a Z06 but, I'm assuming it's the same situation.

Hey Dean,
Have you seen the Top Gear video where they test a C6 Vette?
http://www.racingflix.com/getvideo.asp?v=811
End results on their road course...
"It's nearly as fast as an EVO!"
That's compared to an EVO VIII FQ320.
