Test drove the EVO9 MR

after all of precision dyno's post on the IX's power.
i had to go check their IX's out.

First off the EVO looks really HOT now. Things I really like were the front bumper, the carbon dash kit and the steering wheel. Mitsu changed alot of lil things especially in the suspension with lil brackets that stiffen and brace the suspension better. The control arms are balanced as well.

The IX MR i drove wasn't stock, but was only slightly modded with a catback exhaust system, boost controller and tuned. the car feels really lively really peppy. It isn't like the 8's on/off boost driving. The MIVEC really spools the turbo ALOT earlier (1000rpms earlier). Oh yeah the compresssor housing on the 9's turbo is freaking huge!! with a lil more RND i wanna see what the turbo can really do. I just hope it'll hold 26-28psi til redline.

the impression that the 9 left me was MIVEC is one sick device for the evo. I really wanna see it work with a larger turbo though.
Everyone will probably be forgetting about gt35r...and looking for gt40's instead. and the MR bilstins are freaking awesome still.

Also if i didn't spend so much on my 03 already i would've traded up already. (1 more year left on my note)
Evo8's are still badass though!

later,
Huy

compared to my car the car made a ****load more torque around 3000-4000.
the power band looks and feels really good. I also don't think the 9's are going to "need" stroker kits either.

I also drove an MR a couple days ago. The MIVEC helps alot up top and the torque down low is awesome.

But would never pay the extra 7k for the MR. I would stick with the GSR.

Were did you drive a MR? Was it at a dealer? Most dealers will not let you test drive one.
