Would you buy a new EVO IX @ Invoice?
I have an opportunity to purchase a brand new EVO IX @ Invoice. Obviously this is as good as its going to get. With my trade (03 EVO 8) and $1500 down my payments will be $396/mos for 66 mos @5.75%. The EVo is a regular evo ix no SSL package. I am going to miss the HIDs, but am getting the MIVEC, ACD, Limited slip and 30000 less miles. I'm sure some of you are getting this price already, but I was surprised considering most dealers I have talked to refuse to discount more than $500 of from sticker. Just wondering what you think.

So, what's the invoice price? 29.5k-30k?

ok the evo9's are going to be set at MSRP for a couple months because it's brand new, if you don't buy it someone else will! The $500 off is just Mitsubishi Owner loyalty. You will be hard pressed for a dealer to sell for less then MSRP.

That's a no-brainer. $400/month for a brand new IX after a trade-in is nothing. That's about $200 less per month than most people, although you should just do 60 months and get a better rate from a bank or credit union.

If you just have to have it then get it. Personally I think you are losing money on it. You figure the 03 is almost yours if it isn't already. Mine is mine in March 2006. Not to mention you will have another 66 months to pay for the new car, rather than not having to owe on the 03. 66 months is a long time. I only needed 36 months to pay for my 03.

Just to clarify:
1. I am getting the EVO IX for $30,215 + $500 loyalty cash + $500 grad cash. So I am getting the car for $29, 215 after all discounts.
2. I owe $15,000 on my 2003 and am getting $20, 500 for trade.
I could probably get a bit more for it if I sold it outright, but I do get the tax credit if I trade it in which is worth roughly $1100 so I would have to sell my 03 for $21,600 to get the same deal after taxes on this 06. I just want to make sure its the right thing to do. I bought my 03 used in July for $21,500 w/ 20,000 miles on it. I do not plan to keep the car for 5 years, but figure since I am financing $22,000 I will never be upside down on it, so if I do need to sell it, I can.
Thanks everyone!

As for the grad cash, you have to finance with Mitsu in order to get it, so that sucks, but I guess that's why you're doing the 5.75%@66 months. I was pissed when I got my MR, because I had just graduated recently and wanted to get the discount, but had no intentions of financing with Mitsu (got 3.99% at USAA).

This deal was not just given to me. I was negotiating for about 2 hours and almost walked out twice. I am guessing that because it is the end of the month they just wanted to make a deal. They are a dealership that has no problem getting the 06's. They had several in stock and are getting more. I really didn't think they could get to these numbers. I did not initially know the loyalty and grad cash were available and that sealed the deal for me. I am very impressed with this dealership and am hoping to help others get a similar deal from this dealership. I will know tomorrow when I pick up the car if everyhting is as stated. I have a signed contract so I am not anticipating anything different than I stated before. Thank you everyone for comments. I will post pics once I get the IX.
