Im sorry but safc II is hardly obsolete for the VIII at least.. last time i checked there were no flashed evos with equivlent mods ( im not talking about upgraded turbos/and the stand alone guys here) running even close to any of the SAFCII cars in norcal...
I also have kept track of the great numbers that the NorCal guys get on the S-AFC, but it just defies logic. I think the only way to get equivalent numbers to a flash is with injectors, which allows you to overcome that peak torque timing issue. Even so, the S-AFC is not as good as a flash regardless. It's best when used to tune at the track for race gas. What I haven't seen from them are track results to support the dyno results just like I always mention in other debates. The user "Racers" did a great job with his SAFC-tuned/cammed Evo by running 11.8 @ 114.5, but this was on race gas where the SAFC limitations are not seen He also has 720cc injectors, which is a $400 mod that applies to my comment above.
I'm not familiar with others from this region who are making power well above flashed evos with equivalent mods. Racers' car certainly isn't making more power than flashed cars with equivalent mods...
