Geez, I don't know what's worse - the original poster looking for sympathy or his supporters defending his actions?

nope. I have a bunch of times on the track.

Point blank one is a mistake 3 or 4 is a trend.

I'm not looking for sympathy, nor defense. Take this thread as a "That Sucks" discussion and move on.

Newsflash for the ignorant masses out there. Speeding tickets may raise YOUR rates, but it does not raise the overrall rate for a specific type of vehicle. Only accidents and theft/vandalism do that. If you have speeding tickets on your record, call your insurance company and ask them which car you were driving when you got the ticket. 99% of companies will not be able to answer your question unless you were dumb enough to call them and tell them about the ticket. Think about it numbers wise. How many speeding tickets are given out everyday nationwide to Honda Civics, or Toyota Camrys? You don't see their base rates going up as a result do you? No.

Fair enough. I thought it this thread was leaning on "how do I beat this ticket" angle.

Sorry, I was thinking in terms of "indirectly" increase premiums. I read somewhere that speeding will create greater risk of accidents. I know my EVO's premium went up at my last renewal, and I've never had any violations.

Funny you mention Civics and Camrys, are they in the top10 theft list every year?

This isn't exactly true. Check out my other posts, but the Passport SRX works very well and isn't that expensive. Sure, the MSRP is $1500 installed, but you can find them for much less than that. I bought mine brand new for $750, for instance. You may also find them even cheaper used on eBay. I know it's a lot to pay for a radar/laser defence system, but it's nothing compared to what you will pay on insurance over the years after multiple tickets. Best of luck.

Speeding creates a greater risk of BAD accidents that involve bodily injury and/or death. I'll guarantee there are WAY more low speed accidents everyday in the United States than there are high speed accidents.

Your premiums are going up every renewal on your Evo because the insurance companies are finally figuring out exactly what an Evo is. When they first came out, the rates really weren't that bad at all. Now that a few years have gone by and a number of Evo's have been involved in accidents, the companies have had a chance to see the numbers in action. With those numbers in hand, it became time to raise premiums to insure this vehicle type remains profitable on average. If everyone would stop wrecking their Evos, you would see your rates eventually come back down some.

Oh, and I guess I should have said Camry and Accord for stolen vehicles.

i wanted to congratulate you on 107. . .I was caught, 2 weeks into owning my evo, going 92mph in a 70mph zone.. . .I was however going 118, he just CLOCKED me on deceleration (love those brembos!) . . .since then, the most I EVER go on a morning commute is 95mph, and that's because everyone here in Houston does the same, I'm just "keeping up" with the traffic. . .
It's reckless, I don't condone it, I just do it, and I'm careful about it, but it's stupid and kills your mileage. . .

Really thought in an Evo 107 isnt that fast. I still wouldnt do it because I was late, But mine will get to a 107 from 65 really ****ing fast almost before you know it. But if you choose to drive that fast, Which I dont, dont be surprised and mad when you get the ticket.
