2003 Lancer Evolution worth it?
I wen't to go see a silver 03 Evo w/ no sunroof today. The seller is asking $26,500 for it. It's in mint condition, stock w/ only a k&n drop in filter. He will only go down $500. It has 5,800 miles on it. He says he only drives it on weekends. Is it worth it?

The mileage is great for an 03, but that price is way too high. The 03 has no transferable warranty i believe and if it does, it's over. Transmission problems of the 03 are much more noticable if you search the forums.
For no SSL, I would not buy. Plus you have to think about, was the car broke-in correctly. I would not purchase it. I bought an 05 a few weeks back for almost the same price w/ 4 miles on it.

but all of the 03 warranties are transferable! The most important one, 5 yr/60k miles powertrain warranty. The only warranty that is definitely over is the 12 mo./12k miles bumper to bumper. The 3yr/36 k mile basic coverage warranty may or may not be over, just depends on the delivery date.

If you are worried about the bumper to bumper warranty you can call the dealer with the vin and ask them how much warranty is left. You may get surprised because Mitsu starts the warranty clock when it is first titled. I don't know if other car manufactures do that also.
