Will the Evo 9 be only built 1 year???

There's a strong possibility the next "Evo" may move up market ever so slightly...reading between the lines of various press articles and interviews with Mitsu execs seems to lead credibility to that theory. There's even a chance it won't be labeled an "Evo". Once the new "Evo" is out however, the old chassis and iron block will be retired into obsolescence. At least in terms of new manufacture. There's just no production line room to keep it going alongside the new. I have a feeling there will be plenty of "keepers of the flame" for the "outdated" chassis and engine however. I'd expect a virtually production-ready car making showcar rounds around this time next year with deliveries being made the following spring.

I reckon It's possible. Mitsubishi's already had the CT-9A platform out for about 4 years now. Evo VII came out in 2001.
Evo I-III went late '92-95. Evo IV-VI went from 96-99 with the Tommi Makinen Edition released in 2000. Evo VII in 2001 with the automatic GT-A released in 2002. Then the VIII came out in 2003.
