EVO weak points??

I am considering an EVO as a next car and wonder what weak points they may have? I come from the Subaru camp and know that the scooby 5spd is it weakest point and a costly fix. I am just wondering what the EVO's weak point is and what costs are related with it.

Thanks all

People will say different thing, you can rest assured that 90% of the people who have driveline and motor problems have been abusing the car. Do not get me wrong, I abuse my car, but I do it smartly and I'm prepared for when something gives.

That being said, I'll tell you what I've had problems with.

-Rotors Warped

-Paint chips VERY easily

-CF Wing is peeling

-Brake paint is peeling

-P0300 code (random engine miss-fire) I didn't have a problem with this until I installed ECU+, for some reason ECU+ makes it more sensitive, but Tom is working on a fix, I think for the average guy ECU+ is the BEST engine management you can get (shameless plug is over, sorry, Tom has a great product and deserves to get rep'd)

Blown intercooler pipes clear off, this is my own fault, but the stock fittings are pretty weak IMO, I broke them pretty easily.

I haven't had ANY problems with the driveline what so ever, I'm getting close to 330-350hp and I'm on the stock clutch with 37,000 on the clock.

If you fix the paint you're not left with many problems, but if you play hard and don't know what you're doing, you're going to pay a lot of money.

Yea seems in the AWD Trubo camps guys break stuff do to RWD syndrom, (ie bang gears drop clutch launches)

I would like to have a mild daily driver, stay on the stock turbo with most of the bolt-ons. I figure with the way the EVO responds to mods that should get me what I want.

Yes, what everyone else said:
No CC
Not comfy(not meant to be)
Cheap interior
Bumpy ride
Cheap radio
Cheap paint
8's seats don't match
Brake calipers/wing peel (some people got replaced under warranty)
Some w/ transfer case/transmission problems
Stock Advans wear down quick (great summer tire thought)

Don't buy it. Don't get lure into the dark side.

Mainteance sucks. Quality sucks. Dealership sucks. Resale value sucks. Maaco did the paint job
