Cant find GL-4 oil... frustrated

Ok I been searching everywhere in my city and I cant find GL-4 transmission oil. Every shop including Autobacs dont have manual transmission...all they carry is ATF oils and all of them are GL-5. The only oil that they have is the redline gear oil 75w-90 which is GL-5. I went to Redlines wepage and they said that the gear oil can also be used on manual transaxles but also mentioned they have different oils that will work better. I know some of you highly recommend GL-4 for the manual transaxle but I want to know has anyone of you used GL-5 in your transmission? I am pretty much stuck with GL-5 in this country and dont feel like shipping some Redline MT90 oil back unless its that critical to use GL-4 ONLY for the transaxle.

i use standard redline 75-90 for my tranny, and i use the heavy weight shockproof gear oil for my diff with 2 bottles of slip modifer. (the cusco needs some slip additive)

Remember NEVER to use the 75-90 NS as it has no slip additive in it and your tranny will BE SUPER notchy. i tried it and took it out in 2 days.

Are you refering to the GL-5 gear oil that is 75w-90?

Ok I just called a distributor for redline and they told me for manual transaxles they only import the MTL 70w80. Would this weight be fine? The only problem is each quart is 25 bucks

just get amsoil. They have gl-4 specific stuff. I literally had the same problem as you about 2 weeks ago. just go to amsoil.com it was like $100 for 12qts or something like that. Got here in like 4 days. Not too pricey and amsoil makes good stuff.

I live in Taiwan so it would cost to much for shipping fees
