training videos and written exam?

As a prospective buy in a month or so, I was browsing through ebay and found a dealer requiring to view training video and take a written exam. They said it's required by Mitsubishi..... Can somebody confirm this?

Thanks,

Dong Shin

Yes it is true, the video mostly presents the unique maintence schedule, care of the evo and presents mitsubishi's PitPass pre-paid maintence program. It is required prior to delivery

You have to go to Summer School.

I think they do this so people don't whine about tire life.

Another reason maybe to minimize warranty claims, in other words, if you take care of the car it will break less.

And of course there is the high performance hype.(marketing)

I never took a test or watched a video. I guess only some dealers are doing it.

I had to watch the video and take the test. It's only 10 questions, and you should know everything by now reading through the forums..

Has anyone seen the salesman training video? THAT is good stuff... lots of info on the car... they even show it on a autocross-like test track!

Watching the video is ok and the test is no biggie either...
This is the first time I hear of dealers asking buyers to take test.
I believe the logic behind is to have buyers acknowledge several important aspects of the Evo so Mitsu can cover their butt against potential lawsuits.
This is very interesting indeed...

Funny, they don't make you take a test when you buy an M3. I took tests in college so I can afford these cars. I don't take MMA's test.

Yea, I popped that video in right after the PitPass showcase video. It was pretty good although still a little bit corny. I didn't take a test....picking up my car tomorrow. Hooray!

The dealer told me they cant even offer pit pass right now cause of some lawsuit but they are required to show the video anyway.
