I think you should drive it, after you get some good winter tires. Don't go out and kill yourself but I think it is a good experience to drive in the snow. You will learn how your car reacts in snow. In the future if you are driving in the snow you will be more experienced and it could save your life. If you know you can't control yourself and you know you will end up wrecking than take the 5,000.

Thanx guys for all your concerns......Im actually at the library in school.LOL Of course I know how to treat my car. I freak out if I go to the store and someone parks next to me. I told my dad I needed snow tires and he said that he'd rather have me park my car to save gas and insurance. He said it was my choice so I thought it would be a great idea to ask you guys. Thanx for all your comments people guys!!!!

its not the fact that he's 16 and drives an evo.... that alone isnt a problem at all. Its the fact that he's so un-humble about it he has to post every chance he gets to let everyone know how fortunate he is.

i say you negotiate with him and get half of the money and only 2 months taken away. That way you still have fun and get some money. Or just ask for 30g for another evo

this confused me... what are you getting the 5k for? leaving your car in the garage? what bearing does this have on your father? he does not want you driving in the snow?

Take the money. Then invest it. $5000 is a nice start.
P.S. This guy is my neighbor. (Three doors down across the street) He is not a stuck up kid and is actually one of the only kids in the area who isn't a ****head. People waste too much time with jealousy.

I'd have to say park the car. One of my best friends is your age. He got an 05 H2 Sut for his b-day and Take care of it better then most people I know. Just because someone is wealthy doesn't mean there gonna be careless. glad to see that your being responsible with your car. I bought my Evo when I was 19. I saved up all the money for my down payment(6k) and pay for the car my self. I'm partners in my dad's construction company, goh it great to be 21..lol, and I plan on payin the car off by the end of next summer. Just be careful and maybe try and work a deal with you dad where you can take the car on every once and a while, on pretty days. So, that the car just doesn't sit. Then when spring comes. take the 5k and buy you an Exedy twin disc clutch and all the mods you can..
