That transmitter works great on my car...granted it isn't cd quality. I have the s2000 antenna, but I don't know if that makes much of a difference. You would need a head unit designed for an ipod or mp3 player to hardwire it in.....your best and cheapest bet is to get a better antenna.

I have been searching for a way to connect the ipod to the stock head unit and there is no cheap way of doing it. If your going to spend over a 100 bucks for those gadgets in those sites your better of getting a new head unit with a aux input.
I currently use the crappy fm transmitter(which I paid 40 bucks for) and removed my antenna just so the radio does not pick up the public stations. I am looking for a decent head unit and will change that instead.

yeah, actually i believe there is an ice link available for the mitsubishi's double check on it, but apple makes one specifically, you do have to have the option for a stock cd changer though, and i believe that even with the sound package it is not available. good luck!

i hated my itrip. hated the sound, hated the interface, hated it.
i've had a much easier time living with the DLO unit. not as many stations to choose from, but i haven't had a problem getting the signal without much interference.
things i like better:
-no extra playlist full of radio stations.
-no fumbling around trying to get it to actually transmit at the chosen freq (button sequence is tricky when driving).
-stronger signal- i never have to change it from 87.9. that channel never worked on the itrip.
-it holds your ipod like a stand, no sticking it in my skanky cupholder.
-charges while mounted.
-ipod volume is disabled, output gain is static, and seems about right for radio signal.
all that said, i still have and use my itrip- can't use the DLO outta the car, so it comes in handy when i want to transmit to my boombox. but never in my car anymore.
