Anyone use the VDO EGT gauge?
I order a VDO EGT gauge and the probe seems huge. I'm not sure it will fit in the runner...
Has anyone successfully done this?
I need this installed before I tune my nitrous kit, but I suppose I could tap the downpipe and take note of the EGTs before I tune the nitrous, then compare the EGTs to those on the bottle and make sure they didnt rise significantly.
Any ideas?

I've used the VDO EGT gauge on my 2g and agree that the probe is WAY too big - you need a huge hole and also the mass of it means that the response time is slow. What I did (any others too) was get a replacement probe that is smaller and more responsive from Westach. Here's the website: http://www.ultralightnews.ca/westach/egtsenders.htm
I think this is the one I used: THREADED, 1/8NPT 2 1/2 X 3/16" EXHAUST 712-4D2K

No. thermocouples are all generic to a few types: k-type, t-type, etc. I think pretty much all gauges are the standard k-type which is also what the westach probe should be. In my expereince the readings always seemed accurate also.
