6k hid upgrade bulbs w/ pics

thanks to kdog for great write up, very informative. took me about 3-4 hrs, and saved probably close to $200 in labor. there are before and after pics. the low beams are from hidplace.com, 6k. and the foglights are from europeanautosport.com (hid look).

first two pics are stock lights, last three are after.

8k is more purple, less visibility
6k is more blue. much better visibility
4300k is stock Evo HID, less color tint, more of a white color w/ a hint of blue, pretty good visibility
Hope this helpsTwstD
Me personally I'm doing 6k headlights and IF I can find them anywhere, 4300k fogs , It'll be day time all the time

can you put the stock low beam in the fogs or the 6k in the high beam.

Actually, the higher the color temp, the lower the visibility. The only reason to go with higher color temps is if you prefer the color. For the brightest light, stick with 4300k.

b/c I don't have the SSL I have the luxury of the beams being both HI & LO beams

I was driving to tahoe a couple weeks ago using my 6000k hid bulbs. they are much brighter and clearer at night up until i ran through some fog which rendered the lights useless. I had to use my high beams because they were stock and the yellow beam cut through the fog much better. Anyway i love my 6000ks as long as there is no foreseeable fog in my area.

yeah im pretty happy w/ the fogs too, i put some ion(yellow) fogs in first, but they look too much like stock bulbs, although they would be better for visability im sure. i thought the blue fogs were an improvement from stock but compared to the bluer low beams, its hard to tell. i know the 8k are REALLY blue, i dont have any pics but there are some on hidplace.com in the 8k photo gallery. i love the new 6k though.
