The dealer by me has it marked up $14,995. This is lower than the original $28,000 the first week they had the car. I saw it with my own eyes.
I keep going back there to look at the car and the price keeps going down.
First they said they could probably do $34k, a week later, they said $33k. It keep dropping weekly. I wonder how much longer for it to be MSRP or below.

Oh yeah, I'm new here. Trying to decide between the STi and the Evo and waiting for prices to drop..

Potential Mitsubishi Evo buyers revolt over dealer markups

By AUTOWEEK

Without driving cross-country to confirm reported price gouging on the hot, rally-inspired 271-hp Mitsubishi Evolution, suffice it to say that enough potential buyers are up in arms that they’ve mounted a nationwide boycott campaign.

With only 4500 to sell this year, and just 6000 annually in coming years, some dealers have reportedly tacked as much as $28,000 onto the $28,987 to $30,200 MSRP, although a more typical markup is in the $5,000-to-$10,000 range.

For more info, click on the “boycott these dealers” thread at forums.evolutionm.net.

We rock. Guess it just goes to show that if you get enough consumers behind a specific cause, they can effect the market!

SC~ who would never pay over MSRP.

Haha! Awesome! It's great to know our boycott list is actually doing something. We have a huge response from members and i get several emails per day with dealers to add to the list. I have about 20 more to add this week.

The dealer in my area got an Evo yesterday and I went to check it out.. Sticker price is $35,000 and $5,000 is a bunch of accessories and engine upgrades they are installing today.. and I got to sit in it and I definitely need Recaros.. Don't sit in one unless you are buying it because it depresses you for the rest of the day!!

Outstanding, {clap, clap} for those who participated in bringing this to a publishers attention. But we also must recognize the Mitsu Dealers who did not mark-up the EVO over MSRP.
