Remember, this forum has a balance to maintain between vendors and ALL OF US WHO GIVE THEM THEIR LIVING and in my opinion, they have done a pretty good job over the years. I welcome Truth Squad folks to set straight unreasonable customers just as much as silly vendors.

But this forum isn't balanced from the get go, vendors have to pay to advertise, their presence is the only reason this place exists in the first place. If you want to have balance you have to be willing to sacrifice something, in this case you'd have to be willing to pay to a member here, something 90% of the people sure as hell don't want.

Dude,
**** or get off the pot. I have a great deal of respect for most of the mods on this forum and believe it or not, they won't kick you out for being truthful if you use some tact. If I get kicked off of here, I'll just go to SoCalEvo.net and the other forums to hang out. This is the best forum, however, and I just want to make it better.

I already do what the "truth squad" is about, I'm just saying that people shouldn't begin to act like it gives them some sort of position on this forum. Its still the mods who dictate how things go down, ultimately the decision of what the truth is is theirs. Remember truth is subjective, and you'll only get yourself into trouble by attempting to force your truth on someone elses.

And... don't you think why vendors paid to advertising here. It's because of us, the members. Without us, vendors will not pay to advertise because no one care.

At the same though, put yourself in the vendors shoes. If you paid say 100$ a month, would you want people coming into your threads and bashing your product or suggesting another company? Hell no, I'd want people to go around praising my name. If all the vendors up and said "screw this, we're going home" what would happen to evom? It would be done, finished, or we'd all have to pay to keep it up and going. Obviously this isn't going to happen, but people shouldn't be so quick to act like they "control" the vendors, its very much a ying and yang relationship with them ultimately splitting the bill.

Again I'm not here to start trouble, I applaud people for the basic concept, but I just don't think having a squad is the best course of action.

Man, come on, you're ruining this. Again, this has nothing to do with the mods or the vendors. It has to do with speaking truth without the influence of vendor affiliation. The point is not to replace the mods or pit one vendor against the other, but rather to remain neutral while pointing out BS, helping noobs not waste their money, and provide a known entity for those who don't know what to believe.

As I said before I fully support the philosophy, I just think making it a club isn't wise. The problem will come when it becomes you guys against the vendors. What happens if a vendor posts numbers or makes claims that are "out there"? You guys will jump on it, and appropriately so, but whos going to get hurt? You guys, cause the vendors come first. I rather not see more useful members get banned for stupid things, I much rather see the newbs get the boot for posting the same exhaust question for the nth time.

It's very good for the evo community. Back then 2 years ago, we don't have something like this so most of us have to do is try-and-error or go-by-the-vendor-advertise-bs when modding the car. Off course lot of money wasted and disappointed results.
