Common EVO Problems

What are the top common EVO problems?

I've heard the tranny stinks, paint chips a lot, anything else?

a search would answer you question in full...another big one is some people have a lot of clutch issues aka the clutch going out at relatively low mileage...not everyone but a fair amount of people

agreed on the bad driver.
but i think ur looking for like...clutch goes out quickly, stock rotors on early models were prone to warp, paint chipping or rear doors.
maybe others will keep it going!

-Paint chips easily, especially in fender wells and the rear door sills near the bottom
-Clearcoat on wing fades, spots, and peels
-Paint on Brembro brakes fades, and peels
-Clutch doesn't hold up well to 6k+ clutch dumps (nor should it)
-Transfer case also does not like clutch dumps (nor should it)
-Synchros are prone to going bad on 03 models
-Typical DSM lifter tick
-Stock Throw Out Bearing chatters (this may or may not be due to launching )
-Some models tend to throw p0300 misfire codes for no apparent reason
-Stock Yokohama tires wear out very quickly (atleast if you're driving right they do)

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head atm.

The only thing that drives me crazy is my interior. It rattles and makes all kinds of noise's. I think most of it is because of the leather.

It's not really a problem but kind of annoying. The brakes give off enough dust to cover half the united states.

I am 200 miles away from 30k miles on my 2003 EVO with no problems whatsoever. Clutch isn't slipping, no tranfer case whine, and no gear grinds. I treat my car like a baby, but i have launched it multiple times and it keeps holding strong.

Again, those problems are mostly casued by bad drivers. Of course, there are chances where some Evo's are made out of the factory spec just like every other things.
